UWPHCC Mission
The Public Health Case Competition challenges students to think critically, collaborate across disciplines, and design solutions to real and timely public health issues. The PHCC experience is build around three key pillars designed to support student learning, collaboration, and professional growth.

Real-world Applied Experience
Students will work on a real and timely public health challenge affecting Washington State residents, gaining hands-on experience in problem-solving, policy analysis, and solution design. Students will develop practical solutions, and contribute ideas that could influence policy or create meaningful change in Washington State.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Participants will have the opportunity to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams with students from across the state of Washington, bringing together different perspectives and backgrounds.
Professional networking: This event provides a wonderful opportunity for participants to build meaningful connections with other students and high-impact public health leaders, policymakers, and practitioners from state agencies, nonprofits, and healthcare organizations.
Career Development and Visibility
Participants will receive guidance, mentorship, and direct feedback from experienced public health professionals. They will also gain exposure to potential employers and mentors, develop a portfolio-ready project, and strengthen resumes.
